Job Description & Details
This is a hands-on application development role where you'll be bridging the gap between data science initiatives and user-facing web applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate complex business requirements into scalable solutions, handling everything from database design to UI delivery.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Your day-to-day will involve designing, building, and maintaining robust web applications that interface with data science models and back-end systems. You will take ownership of the full software development lifecycle, meaning you'll need to troubleshoot architectural bottlenecks, write clean code, and ensure your deployments happen on schedule without breaking production. Expect to spend a significant amount of time refining data workflows and making sure the frontend stays responsive while handling heavy backend payloads.
The Core Tech Stack
You will need heavy hitters here: at least six years of professional experience with Python and the Django framework, paired with an equal depth of expertise in Angular for the frontend. Beyond just writing components, you'll need solid intermediate SQL capabilities to query databases effectively and ensure your data pipelines don't crawl. Containerization is also part of the stack, so expect to containerize applications to keep deployments smooth across environments.
Interview Expectations
When you jump on the call with the hiring manager, be ready to defend how you handle state management in complex Angular applications while keeping data synced with a Django REST backend. They'll likely probe your database optimization strategies, asking how you diagnose and fix a sluggish query when joining massive datasets. They aren't looking for textbook definitions; they want to hear war stories about how you diagnosed a production bottleneck and actually fixed it.
Application Advice
Make sure your resume doesn't just list technologies, but explicitly highlights large-scale web applications where you used Python, Django, and Angular together. Sprinkle in keywords like containerization, SQL query optimization, and systems life cycle management so you easily clear their initial ATS screen. If you've previously built tools that interfaced with data science teams or heavy analytics pipelines, put that right at the top of your experience section.
