IFS Supply Chain Consultant

Vega Consulting

Job Description & Details

This is a hands-on functional gig helping a direct client optimize their IFS Applications suite, specifically focusing on supply chain, procurement, and inventory modules. You'll be bridging the gap between messy business requirements and actual system configurations while occasionally traveling to Albany for critical stakeholder sessions.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Expect to spend your days translating high-level logistics and procurement goals into tangible IFS workflows. You will be configuring inventory control, planning, and sales or warranty modules, all while dealing directly with business stakeholders who might not always know what they actually want from the system. Be prepared to roll up your sleeves on data mapping, process alignment, and fixing legacy bottlenecks within IFS Cloud or Apps 10.

The Core Tech Stack

Your bread and butter here is the IFS ERP ecosystem, specifically IFS Cloud and IFS Apps 10. You need to live and breathe the supply chain, sales, and warranty modules. Having a solid grasp of how procurement, inventory control, and service contracts interact under the hood of an enterprise ERP is non-negotiable for keeping this implementation on track.

Interview Expectations

When you talk to the hiring manager, expect them to probe deeply into a messy IFS implementation story from your past—they want to see how you handle shifting requirements and pushback from stubborn stakeholders. You'll likely be asked how you configure the warranty and sales modules to handle custom edge cases, so be ready to walk them through your exact configuration methodology step-by-step rather than speaking in generalities.

Application Advice

To get past the recruiter screen, make sure your resume explicitly highlights your hands-on experience with IFS Cloud or IFS Apps 10, specifically calling out words like 'procurement', 'inventory control', and 'warranty modules'. Ditch the generic ERP bullet points and explicitly state the scale of the supply chain operations you have migrated or optimized in the past.
