Job Description & Details
This senior-level technical leadership role puts you right at the intersection of sales, product, and massive-scale AI infrastructure. You will be quarterbacking complex customer engagements for neoclouds and service providers, making sure technical execution matches aggressive business goals. If you enjoy owning high-stakes architectures and driving proof-of-concept validation for cutting-edge deployments, this is a solid career move.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You will spend your days bridging the gap between field sales engineering and internal product and engineering teams. Your core mission is to coordinate end-to-end proof-of-concept executions, translate abstract customer requirements into concrete hardware architectures and bills of materials, and act as the ultimate technical escalation point. You'll be dealing with rigorous sizing reviews, driving workload validation, and presenting deeply technical solutions directly to executive stakeholders without losing the nuance.
The Core Tech Stack
You need a rock-solid foundation in data center infrastructure, networking, virtualization, and Kubernetes, coupled with fluency in modern cloud-native architectures. Because you'll be advising hyperscalers and neoclouds, deep familiarity with enterprise storage architectures—object, file, and block—plus a firm grasp of security and compliance concepts like tenant isolation, BYOK, mutual TLS, and KMIP are absolute non-negotiables. Infrastructure-as-code and REST APIs round out the toolkit to keep deployments automated and repeatable.
Interview Expectations
Expect the interview panel to test both your system-level engineering depth and your executive presence under pressure. They will likely present a scenario where a high-stakes proof-of-concept is failing its latency SLA right before a major sign-off, asking you to walk through your exact troubleshooting and cross-functional escalation playbook. They are looking to see how you balance technical root-cause analysis with calm, clear communication to nervous enterprise stakeholders. You'll also face deep architectural grilling around security compliance in multi-tenant environments, testing your ability to explain complex encryption and isolation strategies on the fly.
Application Advice
To get past the ATS, your resume needs to heavily feature hard infrastructure keywords like Kubernetes, multi-tenant security, data center architecture, and proof-of-concept governance. Don't just list technologies; quantify your impact by highlighting the scale of the environments you've supported, such as managing strategic enterprise accounts or deploying large-scale cloud and AI infrastructure. Frame your experience around measurable business outcomes to prove you can talk architecture to engineers and ROI to executives.
