Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-duty healthcare integration role centered around EDI data exchange and legacy-to-modern architecture bridging. If you like untangling messy data pipelines and keeping HIPAA-compliant messaging systems running smoothly, this gig will keep you busy. It is a hybrid setup in Dallas, so expect to be on-site part of the week collaborating directly with functional teams.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You will spend your days designing, building, and maintaining complex EDI and healthcare data exchange pipelines. Your core focus will be managing Edifecs v9.1 implementations, wrestling with X12N transactions, HL7 messages, and translating legacy structures into modern FHIR-compliant formats. Expect to troubleshoot broken SSIS packages, optimize MS SQL Server schemas, and integrate various WCF, Web Services, and C#/.NET components to ensure smooth interoperability across the enterprise.

The Core Tech Stack

You need absolute fluency in Edifecs v9.1 and strong enterprise integration patterns using BizTalk 2016 and SSIS. On the database side, you should be extremely comfortable with MS SQL Server (2012-2016), schema design, and query optimization, along with exposure to MySQL, Teradata, or MongoDB. A solid foundation in C#, .NET framework, Java, and API Management is non-negotiable because you'll be bridging the gap between old-school EDI and modern API-driven architectures.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring team to test your deep knowledge of EDI transaction sets; they will likely ask you to walk through how you handle a failed X12N batch transmission and debug systemic data corruption in a high-volume production environment. They want to see how you reason through database performance bottlenecks, so be prepared to whiteboard how you would optimize a bloated SQL schema or tune a sluggish SSIS data flow task without crashing downstream systems.

Application Advice

To get past the ATS and grab the recruiter's attention, make sure your resume explicitly highlights your hands-on experience with Edifecs v9.1, X12N, HL7, and FHIR right at the top. Don't just list technologies—quantify your impact by mentioning the scale of the healthcare data systems you've maintained, and explicitly weave in keywords like BizTalk 2016, SSIS, C#, and MS SQL Server to match their core requirements.
