Job Description & Details
This is a client-facing advisory role focused on optimizing the entire revenue cycle for healthcare provider organizations. If you know the ins and outs of medical billing, denials management, and AR recovery, this position lets you step into a strategic consulting capacity without writing code or building software.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You'll spend your days diagnosing operational gaps across charge capture, coding, and claims adjudication for a portfolio of healthcare clients. Your real challenge will be walking into struggling practices, analyzing their RCM performance data, and building actionable roadmaps to slash their days in AR and fix recurring denial patterns. You aren't just giving high-level advice; you are actively translating data into fixes and holding clients accountable for execution.
The Core Tech Stack
You need deep fluency in major practice management and billing systems like Epic, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or Greenway, along with clearinghouse mechanics. A strong grasp of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines is non-negotiable here, as is your ability to slice and dice revenue metrics to present to a hospital CFO or a lead biller with equal credibility.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring team to present you with a case study where a mid-sized clinic's accounts receivable has suddenly blown out and denials are spiking. They want to see how you structure a root-cause analysis, prioritize operational fixes, and communicate those changes effectively to a non-technical stakeholder without overwhelming them with jargon.
Application Advice
Make sure your resume highlights your quantitative wins—specifically how many days you shaved off AR, percentages by which you improved clean claim rates, or dollar amounts recovered from underpayment audits. Weave keywords like 'denial management', 'charge capture integrity', and 'payer contract performance' directly into your professional summary to clear the initial ATS filters.
