Forward Deployment Engineer

Wipro

Job Description & Details

This Forward Deployment Engineer role at Wipro puts you right at the front lines, bridging the gap between high-level customer strategy and deep-dive AI engineering. You won't just be writing code in a silo; you will be actively translating ambiguous business challenges into deployed, production-ready AI solutions across the US and UK.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Your day-to-day will be a mix of customer discovery, hands-on prototyping, and system integration. You'll sit down with enterprise stakeholders to understand their actual workflows and pain points, then work alongside senior FDEs and platform teams to build out the smallest credible production slice using Wipro's AI platforms. Expect to spend time writing Python scripts, configuring data pipelines, tweaking prompts, and ensuring that whatever agentic workflow or RAG system you build is actually secure, cost-aware, and reliable enough for production.

The Core Tech Stack

Python and SQL are non-negotiable here, as you'll be handling data manipulation, API integrations, and backend logic on the fly. You also need a solid grasp of modern AI architecture—specifically LLMs, RAG, and agentic workflows—plus hands-on exposure to cloud platforms and data observability tools. Since you're dealing directly with enterprise systems, understanding API design and secure deployment practices is crucial to keeping client data locked down while delivering rapid innovation.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring team to test both your technical chops and your consulting EQ. They will likely throw an ambiguous business problem at you and ask how you would architect a GenAI solution for it from scratch, looking to see how you break down complex constraints and define measurable success criteria. You should also be prepared for a deep dive into your past Python or RAG projects, where they'll grill you on system bottlenecks, prompt optimization, and how you handled data privacy or hallucination fallbacks in production.

Application Advice

To get past the ATS, make sure your resume explicitly highlights keywords like GenAI, RAG, agentic systems, Python, and API integration, alongside any zero-to-one product building or startup experience you have. Don't just list technologies; use your bullet points to tell a story about taking an ambiguous problem from discovery straight through to production deployment and measurable business outcomes.
