Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-hitting infrastructure project management gig focused on driving physical and network builds for Wealth Management branch offices across New York and the broader US. You will be knee-deep in managing real estate construction, corporate relocations, and core network deployments, meaning you need to be comfortable dealing with both high-level engineering teams and late-night on-site logistics.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You will spend your days bridging the gap between hardware engineering, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure branch offices open on time and fully connected. Expect to coordinate the installation of voice, data, switches, routers, and infrastructure cabling while keeping a tight grip on project schedules, change management tickets, and weekly status reports. Because this involves physical builds, you'll also have to put in non-standard hours—think Friday evenings and Saturdays—to oversee cutovers and deployments without disrupting active business operations.
The Core Tech Stack
To survive here, you need deep, battle-tested experience with Cisco hardware, network core infrastructure, WAN/LAN setups, and structured cabling management. The team relies heavily on your ability to partner with external vendors for hardware procurement, staging, and installation. On the management side, you need to be fluent in Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Visio, and ServiceNow, while a CCNA or CCNP certification along with a background in financial services infrastructure will immediately put you at the top of the stack.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring manager to throw a complex scenario at you involving a major vendor delay right before a scheduled branch office opening, asking how you would pivot your deployment plan without missing the deadline. They want to see how you handle high-pressure trade-offs and manage stakeholder panic. You should also be ready to explain a time you managed a multi-site network integration or data center build from requirements gathering to UAT sign-off, focusing specifically on how you mitigated risks and tracked deliverables.
Application Advice
Your resume needs to scream physical infrastructure and corporate real estate tech delivery, not just software agile sprints. Make sure keywords like "branch office build," "Cisco hardware," "infrastructure cabling," "ServiceNow," and "Technology Change Management" are front and center to clear the ATS. Highlight your specific years of experience in financial services and emphasize your track record of handling off-hours deployments and vendor management without hand-holding.
