Java Developer

3Core Systems, Inc

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-duty backend engineering gig focused on building resilient microservices and handling distributed data processing via Kafka. If you enjoy wrestling with scalable cloud architectures and don't mind dropping into an on-call rotation every couple of months, this is a solid spot to flex your enterprise chops.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You'll spend your days designing, building, and maintaining robust backend services with a primary focus on server-side logic and distributed event streaming. Expect to collaborate closely with DevOps and architecture teams to ensure smooth deployments, troubleshoot production incidents during your on-call weeks, and occasionally handle evening deployment windows when major releases drop.

The Core Tech Stack

You need to know Java and the Spring/Spring Boot ecosystem inside and out, as they form the absolute backbone of this environment. On top of that, hands-on experience with Kafka is non-negotiable since they rely heavily on it for distributed processing. Familiarity with cloud platforms—specifically AWS, though GCP or other cloud-agnostic environments work—is critical for deploying and scaling these microservices.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring team to grill you on distributed systems resilience, specifically asking how you handle message deduplication, consumer lag, and failure recovery in Kafka. They will also likely push you on Spring Boot microservices design patterns, wanting to know how you handle circuit breaking, distributed tracing, and graceful degradation when a downstream service goes dark.

Application Advice

To get past the ATS and grab the engineering manager's attention, make sure your resume explicitly highlights your hands-on production experience with Kafka and Spring Boot microservices rather than just listing them as buzzwords. Emphasize any cloud migration or large-scale backend optimization projects you've owned end-to-end, and clearly state your familiarity with on-call support and production deployments.
