Job Description & Details
This contract role drops you right into the deep end of automotive supply chain transformations, where legacy systems meet modern AI-driven decision-making. You will act as the crucial translation layer between business stakeholders and tech teams, figuring out why vehicle order-to-delivery pipelines get clogged and how to fix them with data.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You will spend a lot of time leading discovery workshops with automotive executives and operations teams to map out messy supply chain workflows. Your day-to-day involves dissecting everything from vehicle allocation and dealer fulfillment to complex recall management and VIN traceability. You are expected to take vague operational bottlenecks and turn them into concrete functional requirements and solution roadmaps that data and engineering teams can actually build.
The Core Tech Stack
While you won't necessarily be writing code, you need a deep operational grasp of Supply Chain Control Towers, AI analytics platforms, and end-to-end vehicle genealogy systems. The team relies on your expertise in demand forecasting engines, Bill of Materials (BOM) relationships, and transportation logistics data. If you can't talk fluently about OTD (Order-to-Delivery) metrics and how they tie into modern data validation pipelines, you'll struggle to gain the trust of the stakeholders.
Interview Expectations
The hiring managers are going to probe your real-world battle scars regarding dealer fulfillment and vehicle logistics. They will likely ask you how you would handle a scenario where an OEM's supply planning data is completely misaligned with actual dealer demand during a parts shortage. They are secretly looking for someone who doesn't just parrot textbook supply chain frameworks, but has actually managed high-stakes business process transformations and can stand their ground when executives push back on ROI metrics.
Application Advice
Skip the generic project management fluff on your resume and heavily emphasize your domain-specific wins in automotive OEMs. Make sure keywords like Order-to-Delivery, VIN traceability, supply chain visibility, and business value realization are front and center. If you have successfully led transformation initiatives involving supply chain control towers or dealer operations, highlight the measurable impact you delivered to make your profile stand out to the ATS.
