Salesforce Business Analyst / Salesforce Functional Consultant (Healthcare)

New York State Office of Addiction Services & Supports (OASAS)

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-duty, long-term public sector contract with the New York State Office of Addiction Services & Supports working with Salesforce and healthcare systems. If you know your way around OmniStudio and can wrangle complex stakeholder requirements without breaking a sweat, this gig offers stability and massive impact over a 30-month run.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You will spend a good chunk of your time bridging the gap between non-technical state stakeholders and the dev team, running JAD sessions, and mapping out 'As-Is' and 'To-Be' processes. Expect to grind out user stories, wireframes, and test plans while managing the entire requirements lifecycle for critical healthcare applications used across New York State.

The Core Tech Stack

You need deep, hands-on experience with Salesforce, specifically leveraging OmniStudio and Public Sector solutions. Paired with a mandatory Salesforce Certified Business Analyst or Admin/Developer certification, you'll also need a solid foundational grasp of healthcare tech domains like patient records, billing, and finance to survive the heavy functional documentation requirements.

Interview Expectations

Since this is an in-person interview for a strict public sector client, be prepared to answer deep-dive scenario questions on how you handle scope creep during JAD sessions and requirements traceability. The hiring manager is secretly testing whether you can stand your ground against difficult stakeholders while keeping documentation clean, compliant, and ready for development.

Application Advice

Make sure your resume screams 10+ years of enterprise BA experience and explicitly highlights your Salesforce OmniStudio background and healthcare projects. Ensure keywords like 'Requirement Elicitation', 'User Stories', 'JAD Sessions', and 'Salesforce Certified Business Analyst' are front and center to effortlessly pass the state's rigid ATS screening.
