PeopleSoft HCM Functional Analyst

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-duty functional implementation role focused on untangling legacy HR and payroll data to roll out a unified Single ID system in PeopleSoft HCM. You will be acting as the bridge between HR, IT, and Payroll, making sure that consolidating employee IDs doesn't accidentally break downstream pay calculations or tax reporting. If you know PeopleSoft payroll inside and out, this project offers a clear, high-impact mission.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Your day-to-day will revolve around untangling complex data maps, auditing current-state workflows, and designing the future-state process for Single ID adoption. You will spend a significant amount of time collaborating with technical integration teams and testing payroll runs to ensure retro pay, multiperiod processing, and FLSA calculations don't drop any accuracy during the transition. Expect to write comprehensive documentation and guide end-users and payroll admins through the operational changes before and after go-live.

The Core Tech Stack

You absolutely need deep, hands-on experience with PeopleSoft HCM and core Payroll modules, specifically around earn codes, earnings programs, and paysheet builds. A granular understanding of PeopleSoft Pay Group setups and FLSA functionality is non-negotiable here because any mistake in the configuration directly impacts employee paychecks. The team relies on your ability to trace how an identifier change ripples through integrations, security, and historical reporting.

Interview Expectations

When you talk to the hiring manager, expect them to ask you to walk through a scenario where consolidating multiple employee IDs broke a complex retro-pay calculation, and how you diagnosed and fixed it. They want to see that you understand the domino effect a Single ID implementation has on downstream payroll tables. You should also be ready to explain how you configure PeopleSoft FLSA functionality and handle edge cases with multiperiod payroll processing without relying on custom code hacks.

Application Advice

Skip the generic project management fluff on your resume and focus strictly on your hands-on PeopleSoft implementation history. Highlight exact keywords from the job description such as 'Single ID implementation', 'Pay Group setup', 'paysheet build', and 'FLSA functionality' so you clear the ATS filters. Make sure your summary explicitly calls out your experience bridging HR and Payroll operations during major system transitions.
