Telecom Data Architecture & Modeling

Not Disclosed

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-hitting data architecture role built specifically for someone who knows the ins and outs of modern telecom networks, OSS/BSS, and complex inventory systems. You won't just be drawing diagrams; you'll be defining the enterprise data models that power network planning, capacity forecasting, and AI-driven automation for tier-one infrastructure.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Your day-to-day will revolve around architecting conceptual, logical, and physical data models that map everything from physical fiber routes and DWDM transport layers down to virtualized cloud-native network resources. You'll work closely with network engineers and data scientists to ensure telemetry, performance counters, and fault alarms flow seamlessly into analytical platforms. Expect to spend a lot of time defining canonical data structures that tie customer services directly to physical network topology while establishing strict data governance, lineage, and metadata management.

The Core Tech Stack

You need absolute mastery over telecom data standards, specifically the TM Forum SID (Shared Information/Data Model) and eTOM frameworks. Experience with platforms like Netcracker, ServiceNow TNI, Blue Planet, or Amdocs is heavily leaned on here, alongside a deep technical grip on graph databases and relational modeling for massive-scale network graphs. If you haven't modeled DWDM, MPLS, IP network inventories, and OpenTelemetry streams before, you'll find the scale of this environment overwhelming.

Interview Expectations

They are going to test your practical knowledge of translating complex physical network hierarchies into efficient graph or relational models, likely asking you to whiteboard a canonical model for end-to-end service assurance and fault correlation. The interviewer is secretly looking for your ability to balance normalized database design principles with the high-throughput performance requirements of real-time telemetry ingestion and AI/ML workloads.

Application Advice

Make sure your resume screams 'Telecom Domain Expert' rather than generic data warehousing. Explicitly highlight your hands-on experience with TM Forum SID, OSS/BSS migrations, and large-scale network inventory modeling so you easily sail past the initial automated screening filters.
