Senior .NET Application Developer

Cynet Systems Inc.

Job Description & Details

This is a hands-on senior role focused on keeping enterprise console and web applications humming while driving continuous technical improvements. You won't just be writing new features; you'll own the full lifecycle from code-level debugging and root-cause analysis to production deployments and incident mitigation. If you like a hybrid of active development, production support, and direct customer collaboration, this contract position in Lisle hits the sweet spot.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Your day-to-day will be a mix of feature development, configuration management, and jumping into the trenches when production fires break out. You'll spend time building and maintaining React, C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET MVC, and .NET Core applications, while also occasionally untangling legacy code or supporting an Angular-based system. Expect to configure IIS, manage application pools and SSL certificates, write and tune SQL Server queries, review pull requests in Azure DevOps, and handle release management across Dev, QA, and Prod. You'll also work closely with customer support managers and business operations to resolve high-severity incidents and deliver timely fixes.

The Core Tech Stack

You need absolute fluency in .NET development (C#, ASP.NET MVC, .NET Core, Web APIs) paired with at least 3 years of solid React experience to handle the frontend side of modern enterprise apps. SQL Server expertise is non-negotiable—you'll be writing deployment scripts, rolling back bad migrations, and fine-tuning stored procedures under pressure. On top of that, deep familiarity with IIS hosting, Windows Server configurations, and Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines and repo management will dictate whether you float or sink in this environment.

Interview Expectations

The engineering managers will want to test your operational resilience and architectural thinking. Expect to be asked about a time you had to troubleshoot a cascading failure in a production environment with limited logging, and how you performed root-cause analysis to prevent it from happening again. They are looking for ownership, methodical debugging processes, and how you communicate technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders under stress. They may also drill down into your React state management strategies versus your backend API design patterns in .NET Core.

Application Advice

To get past the automated screeners and land an interview, ensure your resume explicitly highlights your hands-on background in React, C#, .NET Core, and SQL Server optimization. Don't just list technologies; write out bullet points that emphasize your production support experience, Azure DevOps pipeline management, and IIS server configuration. Weave in keywords like root-cause analysis, REST APIs, and release management naturally into your work history to show you can handle the operational weight of a senior role.
