End User Computing (EUC) Engineer

Job Description & Details

This is a boots-on-the-ground EUC role embedded directly in a manufacturing facility where your daily output directly keeps the plant floor running. If you hate sitting behind a desk waiting for remote tickets and prefer a fast-paced environment where you troubleshoot everything from dead laptops to misbehaving plant network switches, this is worth a close look.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Expect to bounce between standard tier-2/3 desktop support and keeping physical hardware alive in a rugged environment. You will manage Windows deployments, handle Active Directory and M365 issues, and fix barcode printers or network drops that are actively halting warehouse operations. Because this is 100% onsite in a manufacturing plant, your ability to diagnose a physical hardware failure or a local VLAN misconfiguration on the spot is what will make you successful here.

The Core Tech Stack

Windows 10/11 administration and Active Directory form the backbone of this job, but the real differentiator is your grasp of Cisco networking. They aren't looking for a pure desktop jockey; they need someone who can troubleshoot switches, DHCP, DNS, and VLANs without breaking a sweat. Familiarity with ServiceNow for ticketing and enterprise hardware like Dell, HP, and specialized label printers will be your daily bread and butter.

Interview Expectations

Expect the technical screen to lean heavily into real-world troubleshooting scenarios. They'll likely ask you to walk through how you isolate a network drop issue where a workstation on the shop floor can't pull an IP address or reach the local domain controller. The hiring manager is secretly testing your systematic diagnostic approach—they want to see if you check the physical layer first or immediately start tweaking group policies.

Application Advice

Make sure your resume doesn't just read like a list of helpdesk certifications. Explicitly highlight your hands-on experience with manufacturing plant IT environments, barcode printers, and physical network troubleshooting alongside your standard desktop support metrics. Weave keywords like Active Directory, Cisco networking, M365, and ServiceNow naturally into your work history to get past the initial ATS filters.
