Job Description & Details
If you are tired of writing code in a silo and want to actually own enterprise-scale marketing data initiatives, this Technology Manager role gives you the reins. You will sit at the intersection of business strategy and heavy-duty data engineering, making sure cloud architectures don't collapse under the weight of massive customer datasets. It is a leadership-heavy gig where your technical chops will be tested just as much as your ability to herd cats across cross-functional teams.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Expect your day to be a mix of high-level architecture planning and rolling up your sleeves to unblock your engineers. You will own the entire lifecycle of marketing data platforms, from wrangling vague requirements out of business stakeholders to deploying bulletproof pipelines to production. You are the bridge between the suits and the devs, translating business jargon into sprint-ready technical execution while keeping RAID logs and project timelines from derailing.
The Core Tech Stack
Azure and Databricks are your bread and butter here, and you cannot fake your way through this. The team relies on you to anchor the data modeling, pipeline orchestration, and integration layers, specifically around Customer 360 and Master Data Management concepts. Because this is a marketing data platform, you need a rock-solid grasp of domain objects like leads, opportunities, consent tracking, and engagement metrics to ensure downstream reporting actually makes sense to the business.
Interview Expectations
When you sit down with the hiring manager, expect them to test your war stories regarding cross-functional delivery bottlenecks and messy stakeholder management. They will likely ask you to explain a time a cloud data architecture failed at scale on Azure/Databricks and how you course-corrected without missing a release deadline. They aren't just looking for a technical yes-man; they want to see how you mentor a team of 5 to 8 engineers through high-pressure technical debt and tight delivery cycles.
Application Advice
Your resume needs to scream enterprise data architecture and team leadership right off the bat, so make sure your experience with Azure, Databricks, and Customer 360 initiatives is front and center. Don't just list technologies; highlight specific metrics around team sizes managed, complex system integrations delivered, and marketing data platforms scaled to bypass the ATS and catch the eye of the engineering director.
