Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-hitting contract role for a senior engineer who can jump into a complex enterprise ecosystem and immediately start shipping production-grade code. You'll be bridging the gap between robust backend architectures and modern frontend frameworks while occasionally poking around emerging AI integration efforts like RAG. If you enjoy mentoring offshore teams and untangling distributed legacy dependencies, this gig will keep you on your toes.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Your day-to-day will involve architecting and refining Spring Boot microservices, building clean UI components in React, and troubleshooting API bottlenecks. You'll spend a good chunk of your time reviewing PRs, guiding offshore devs through roadblocks, and translating ambiguous business specs into concrete technical execution. Expect to juggle standard Agile sprint cycles while ensuring your services are secure, performant, and play nice with containerized cloud environments.
The Core Tech Stack
Java and Spring Boot are the absolute bread and butter here, so you need to dream in dependency injection and know your way around microservice patterns. On the other side, React, Redux, and modern JavaScript are non-negotiable for building out the frontend experience. Toss in some hands-on familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and ideally a bit of exposure to LLMs or vector databases for their RAG initiatives, and you'll have the exact toolkit they're relying on.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring manager to throw a concurrency or transactional management scenario at you in Java to see how you handle deadlocks and performance degradation in high-throughput systems. They'll also likely probe your frontend state management strategies in React and ask how you isolate side-effects when dealing with complex asynchronous data flows. They aren't looking for textbook definitions; they want to hear war stories about how you diagnosed and fixed these exact issues in past production environments.
Application Advice
Make sure your resume screams enterprise architecture rather than just listing syntax. Highlight your experience leading technical discussions, mentoring engineers across time zones, and explicitly mention keywords like Spring Boot, microservices architecture, RESTful API design, React.js, and CI/CD pipelines to clear the automated screening filters. Keep it clean, senior-focused, and heavy on measurable delivery outcomes.
