Senior SoC Validation Engineer

Cynet Systems Inc.

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-hitting contract role focused on bridging the gap between design and high-volume manufacturing for complex SoC devices. If you enjoy wrangling ATE platforms and pushing silicon with copackaged optics and cutting-edge SerDes to their absolute limits, this gig gives you direct ownership of the production test ecosystem.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Expect to spend your days knee-deep in wafer sort and final test program development, making sure these advanced SoCs don't just pass in the lab, but yield reliably in high-volume production. You will be writing Python scripts to parse STDF data and automate limit updates, correlating bench characterization to ATE data, and debugging tricky LTSSM states or link training issues for UCIe and PCIe interfaces. Working alongside silicon design, firmware, and OSAT teams means you'll be the bridge translating raw silicon behavior into robust, multisite test flows.

The Core Tech Stack

You need real, hands-on mileage with ATE platforms like Advantest V93K or Teradyne UltraFLEX, coupled with a deep mastery of SerDes fundamentals—think equalization, CDR, jitter, and eye constraints. Python is non-negotiable here for building automation and analytics tools, alongside a solid grasp of DFT features like scan, ATPG, MBIST, and JTAG. Familiarity with high-speed protocols like PCIe (Gen5/Gen6) and UCIe from a test perspective is critical to keeping this silicon humming.

Interview Expectations

Be ready to walk through how you would debug a multisite test time bottleneck or a yield drop on an advanced SerDes PHY during wafer sort. The hiring manager is testing your real-world troubleshooting methodology and your ability to balance test coverage with aggressive manufacturing costs. They will also likely drill down into your Python automation background, asking you to explain how you've previously handled STDF parsing, automated SPC anomaly detection, and closing the correlation gap between bench measurement and ATE results.

Application Advice

Skip the generic summaries and make sure your resume highlights specific ATE platforms you've programmed and production test milestones you've hit. Explicitly call out your Python automation projects, STDF data analytics experience, and hands-on work with PCIe, UCIe, or high-speed SerDes. Mirroring keywords like multisite test execution, guardbanding, and DFT/BIST enablement will help your application sail past the automated filters and land directly on the engineering manager's desk.
