MES Support Specialist

Job Description & Details

This is a hands-on production support role where you'll keep critical manufacturing execution systems running smoothly. If you enjoy jumping into complex system issues, talking with end-users, and making sure factory floors don't grind to a halt, this gig is worth a serious look.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You'll spend your days monitoring MES performance, untangling software bugs, and responding to support tickets from production teams who need things fixed yesterday. Expect to balance routine system maintenance with sudden troubleshooting fires, all while collaborating closely with plant floor operators to ensure compliance and smooth data flow.

The Core Tech Stack

You absolutely need deep familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems, with Aprios being the golden ticket here, though Rockwell, Siemens Opcenter, or Proficy Smart Factory will also cut it. Because this role touches regulated environments, having prior ITAR compliance experience is non-negotiable for keeping things audit-ready.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring manager to throw a realistic production outage scenario at you and ask how you would handle it while keeping stakeholders calm under pressure. They are secretly testing your diagnostic methodology, your ability to communicate clearly with non-technical factory staff, and whether you panic when SLAs are burning down. They'll also probe deeply into your specific MES background to verify you actually built or maintained these workflows rather than just supervised them.

Application Advice

Make sure your resume screams MES support, troubleshooting, and compliance right at the top so the ATS picks it up instantly. Explicitly list out the specific software platforms you've used like Aprios or Rockwell, and weave in metrics around ticket resolution times or system uptime to prove you know how to keep enterprise manufacturing floors humming.
