Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-hitting senior backend role focused on building out transaction-heavy digital platforms and modernizing customer journeys. You will be knee-deep in .NET microservices and cloud infrastructure, driving technical delivery without getting bogged down by endless meetings. It is a solid gig if you want to flex your architecture muscles and build scalable systems that actually move the needle.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You will spend your days designing REST APIs, building cloud-native microservices on Google Cloud Platform, and wrangling complex distributed systems. Expect to collaborate heavily with product folks and frontend engineers using React and Angular, while occasionally stepping up to mentor junior devs on solid design patterns and clean code. You'll also lean on AI tools like GitHub Copilot to speed up your testing loops and daily coding tasks.
The Core Tech Stack
You need absolute mastery over C#, .NET, .NET Core, and cloud infrastructure like Google Cloud Platform. The codebase relies heavily on clean object-oriented design, SOLID principles, and microservices architecture, so you can't fake your way through the backend fundamentals. Having a working grasp of frontend frameworks like Angular or React is a huge plus since you'll interface constantly with web applications.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring manager to throw a system design curveball at you, asking how you would scale a transaction processing service to handle sudden traffic spikes without blowing up your database latency. They are looking to see if you instinctively reach for caching layers, proper asynchronous messaging patterns, and clean separation of concerns. You will also likely get grilled on your experience with cloud-native microservices on GCP and how you handle failures gracefully in a distributed environment.
Application Advice
Make sure your resume screams backend scalability and cloud deployment. Don't just list .NET and C#; explicitly highlight your hands-on work with Google Cloud Platform, REST APIs, and microservices architecture to get past the automated ATS filters. Weave in examples of how you have mentored engineers or driven technical delivery from scratch to prove you actually operate at a senior level.
