Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-hitting integration architecture role focused on leading enterprise-wide SAP transformation programs using the SAP BTP Integration Suite. If you enjoy owning the entire integration roadmap, setting the standard for clean-core architecture, and steering complex hybrid landscapes, this long-term contract is worth your time.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You will spend your days designing and governing how SAP talks to the rest of the world, whether that is bridging legacy on-prem systems with modern SaaS platforms or orchestrating complex B2B/EDI transaction flows. Expect to spend significant time reviewing custom iFlows, untangling stubborn exception-handling logic, writing advanced Groovy scripts, and steering functional module owners (SD, MM, FI/CO) toward unified, API-led integration patterns.
The Core Tech Stack
You need absolute mastery over SAP CPI (Integration Suite) and a deep understanding of hybrid landscapes involving SAP S/4HANA, Ariba, and SuccessFactors. The technical baseline requires strong proficiency in building custom iFlows, implementing robust security certificates and keystores via the SAP BTP Cockpit, and handling heavy EDI/B2B traffic using standards like ANSI X12 and EDIFACT over AS2 and SFTP. If you cannot drop into Groovy or JavaScript to solve complex payload transformations on the fly, you will struggle here.
Interview Expectations
The hiring manager is going to probe deep into your past architectural decisions, specifically asking how you handle message throughput bottlenecks and error handling in high-volume, event-driven scenarios. You will likely be asked to explain how you design resilient retry mechanisms using JMS and how you configure the SAP Cloud Connector for secure hybrid connectivity. They want to see that you do not just draw diagrams, but that you have actually debugged trace logs in production at 2 AM.
Application Advice
Skip the generic project management fluff on your resume and spotlight your raw technical horsepower with SAP CPI and B2B/EDI frameworks. Make sure exact keywords like 'SAP BTP Integration Suite', 'Groovy Script', 'iFlows', 'AS2', and 'Clean-Core' are prominently featured in your experience section so you instantly clear the initial ATS filter.
