Job Description & Details
This is a solid SRE II position centered around managing and scaling internal cloud platforms with a heavy emphasis on automation. You will be expected to split your time between keeping production healthy and building out long-term infrastructure solutions alongside cross-functional teams.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Your day-to-day will involve firefighting production issues, digging deep into root causes across network and application layers, and writing code to ensure those issues never happen again. Since this is a hybrid role requiring three days onsite in Jersey City, you'll be collaborating closely in-person with other engineers to standardize infrastructure deployment and push the needle on cloud reliability.
The Core Tech Stack
You need to be completely fluent in Unix/Linux environments and confident writing infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and Ansible. On the scripting and software side, solid Python, Java, and Shell scripting are non-negotiable because you'll be building automation frameworks from scratch rather than just clicking around a console.
Interview Expectations
Expect to be grilled on your debugging methodology during a live incident; the interviewer wants to see how you systematically isolate failures across the network, application, and hardware layers under pressure. You will also likely be asked to whiteboard a scalable automation framework using Terraform, where they'll be looking for how you handle state management, modularity, and idempotency.
Application Advice
Make sure your resume heavily highlights your hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, and Python, specifically calling out projects where you built automation tools or improved system latency and availability metrics. Sneak in exact phrasing from the job description regarding full lifecycle cloud management and cross-functional standardization to effortlessly clear their automated screening.
