Vendor Management Analyst

Systems Engineering Services

Job Description & Details

This is a hands-on Vendor Management Analyst gig where you'll spend your days wrangling procurement data, hunting down reporting discrepancies, and building out automated workflows. It requires someone who can comfortably bridge the gap between heavy number-crunching in Excel/Power BI and practical process optimization using Power Automate.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Expect to spend a good chunk of your week deep in data extraction and dashboard maintenance. You will pull spend, forecasting, and savings metrics using tools like DBeaver and SAP Ariba, translating raw numbers into executive-ready dashboards. Beyond standard reporting, you'll act as an internal detective—scrutinizing supplier data for potential fraud, reconciling cross-system variances, and identifying where manual processes are slowing the team down. You'll also occasionally mentor junior apprentices on the team while working closely with finance and operations stakeholders.

The Core Tech Stack

To survive here, you need strong fluency in Advanced Excel and Power BI for reporting, alongside DBeaver for database access and SAP/SAP Ariba for enterprise data extraction. Microsoft Power Automate is non-negotiable since a major part of the job involves eliminating manual tasks and building clean internal workflows. Having a background in Vendor Management Office (VMO) environments will make the transition much smoother.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring manager to test your data reconciliation skills by asking how you would handle a scenario where spend data across two different enterprise systems completely conflicts. They want to see your investigative mindset and attention to detail. You'll also likely be quizzed on your practical experience with Power Automate, specifically how you've designed a workflow from scratch to solve a tedious manual reporting bottleneck.

Application Advice

Make sure your resume highlights hard data migration and dashboard creation experience, rather than just high-level vendor relations. Explicitly drop keywords like SAP Ariba, DBeaver, Power BI, and Power Automate into your technical summary so you easily clear the initial ATS filters. Emphasize your ability to run projects independently and act as a reliable 'right-hand resource' for VMO leadership.
