Engineer Systems Test 3

Everforth Apex

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-duty aerospace systems test role based out of Woodland Hills, focusing heavily on guidance, navigation, and control for aircraft. You will be spending your days up to your elbows in test automation, GPS integrity verification, and hardware troubleshooting. If you like bridging the gap between theoretical system architecture and physical flight hardware, this one is worth a serious look.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Expect to spend your mornings troubleshooting complex equipment issues to get hardware through system build-out and sell-off. You will collaborate directly with systems engineers to run characterization studies, design custom testing methods for commercial and custom components, and figure out why a test algorithm is failing simulation. When things break—and in aerospace hardware testing, they will—you are the one diving into the logs, compiling the data, and defining the necessary updates to the testing methodology and procedures.

The Core Tech Stack

You need a strong foundation in aerospace standards, specifically working knowledge of DO-229D Appendix R and TSO/MSO-C145. Test automation and simulation tools for GPS verification are non-negotiable here. If you also happen to know your way around DO-178C processes and standard lab gear like network analyzers, oscilloscopes, waveform generators, and Spirent GPS testing equipment, you are going to fit right in.

Interview Expectations

Expect them to grill you on your hands-on experience with GPS integrity verification and how you handle complex test automation failures under tight constraints. The hiring manager is secretly looking for systematic troubleshooting methodology—they want to hear how you isolate a hardware versus software fault when everything is failing simultaneously. They will also likely test your familiarity with regulatory standards, so be ready to talk through practical applications of DO-229D or DO-178C in a past project.

Application Advice

Make sure your resume explicitly calls out your years of experience in STEM along with exact keyword matches for DO-229D, TSO/MSO-C145, and GPS testing simulation. Don't hide your hardware debugging background in a generic summary; spell out the specific lab equipment you've used and the aerospace standards you've complied with so you easily clear the initial ATS screening.
