Project Manager

Centurion

Job Description & Details

Centurion is looking for a Project Manager to step into their PMO based out of Oklahoma City, handling complex public health initiatives for OSDH. You will be juggling everything from resource allocation to vendor management while keeping state-level projects on schedule and budget. It is a classic government-adjacent PM role where stakeholder management and navigating bureaucracy are just as important as your Gantt charts.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You will spend your days driving medium to extra-large complexity projects through their entire lifecycle, from kick-off to closeout. Expect to run status meetings, wrangle vendor deliverables, forecast resource needs, and constantly perform root cause analysis when things inevitably hit a roadblock. You will act as the glue between agency leadership, technical teams, and external vendors, making sure everyone stays aligned with state and federal guidelines.

The Core Tech Stack

While you won't be writing code, you need to live and breathe MS Project and have a deep fluency in PMI's PMBOK framework. The team relies on you knowing your way around Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid methodologies depending on what the project demands. Having certifications like PMP, LSSBB, or CSM on your resume is practically a prerequisite here because they want someone who can instantly speak the language of structured project governance.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring manager to ask you to describe a time a major project went off the rails due to scope creep and how you brought it back under control without alienating the stakeholders. They are secretly testing your conflict resolution skills and your ability to push back on scope without breaking vendor relationships. Another likely scenario will involve walking them through how you handle resource constraints when multiple high-priority projects are fighting for the same SMEs.

Application Advice

Your resume needs to heavily feature terms like scope management, risk mitigation, change management, and vendor engagement to clear the ATS parser. Make sure your summary explicitly highlights your 5+ years of formal PM experience, especially if you have background in state government or regulated industries. Drop your PMBOK familiarity and specific PM methodologies right at the top so the recruiter knows you check all their governance boxes immediately.
