Procurement Buyer 2

nTech Workforce

Job Description & Details

This role places you right in the middle of manufacturing operations for a global energy technology leader, managing the nuts and bolts of supply chain execution. If you enjoy diving into ERP systems to untangle material shortages and keep factory lines moving, this 12-month hybrid contract in Claremore offers a straightforward, high-impact assignment.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You will spend your days owning the purchase order lifecycle from requisition to final delivery, acting as the operational bridge between suppliers, planning, and manufacturing. Your core routine involves combing through open order reports, chasing down late shipments, and mitigating material shortages before they halt the production floor. You will also spend a significant amount of time wrangling administrative bottlenecks in SAP, specifically clearing out Goods Receipt / Invoice Receipt mismatches and resolving Quality Notifications.

The Core Tech Stack

SAP is the absolute lifeblood of this role, and you will not survive here without solid, hands-on experience navigating its procurement modules. Alongside SAP, you need to be dangerous in Microsoft Excel, capable of rapidly parsing large open-order datasets and managing reschedule metrics without losing your mind. Knowing your way around SAP Ariba is a nice bonus that will flatten the onboarding curve.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring manager to immediately test your SAP fluency by asking you to walk through how you diagnose and resolve a stubborn GRIR discrepancy or a stuck Quality Notification. They want to hear practical, step-by-step troubleshooting methods rather than high-level theory. Secondly, be ready for a scenario-based question on supplier management where a critical vendor is delaying a delivery by two weeks and shutting down an assembly line; they are looking for your negotiation tactics, follow-through grit, and cross-functional communication style.

Application Advice

Your resume needs to make it past the ATS by heavily featuring exact keyword matches like SAP procurement, purchase order management, shortage mitigation, and GRIR. Don't just list your past job duties; write bullet points that quantify your impact, such as the dollar value of the inventory you managed or the specific percentage by which you reduced open order backlog. If you've worked in heavy industrial, aerospace, or oil and gas manufacturing, put that front and center to immediately signal you understand the physical realities of a factory floor.
