Configuration Analyst 1

Everforth Apex

Job Description & Details

This Configuration Analyst role is all about keeping complex engineering data from descending into total chaos. If you enjoy acting as the bridge between engineering, quality, and manufacturing while ensuring every drawing and change order is meticulously tracked, you will fit right in.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You will spend your days managing configuration baselines, reviewing engineering drawings, and pushing change orders through the pipeline. Expect to coordinate closely with cross-functional teams to analyze how product design changes impact the entire system. You'll also be auditing documentation and feeding part numbers into the ERP system, making your organizational skills your absolute best friend on the job.

The Core Tech Stack

You need to be dangerous in Microsoft 365, particularly Excel and Word, but the heavy lifters here are PLM and ERP systems. If you've spent time in Siemens Teamcenter and enterprise tools like SAP or Deltek Costpoint, you'll be able to hit the ground running. They also expect you to comfortably read and interpret blueprints and engineering specifications without breaking a sweat.

Interview Expectations

Be ready for the hiring manager to ask you to walk through a time you caught a discrepancy in a design change or engineering drawing, and how you communicated that fix across multiple departments. They are secretly testing your attention to detail and your ability to push back professionally when engineering data doesn't match baseline standards. They might also quiz you on how you prioritize tasks when multiple urgent change orders land on your desk at the exact same time.

Application Advice

Make sure your resume leans heavily into your experience with configuration management, document control, and your familiarity with PLM and ERP platforms. Don't just list your tasks; highlight your experience auditing drawings, managing change requests, and coordinating across departments. Sprinkle in keywords like Teamcenter, change orders, baseline management, and SAP to clear the automated screening filters.
