Project Manager

Systems Engineering Services

Job Description & Details

This is a serious high-stakes Project Manager gig where you will be interfacing directly with CIOs and C-level executives in the financial sector. You'll need to own the room, run the projects end-to-end, and possess the domain expertise to talk finance, retirement, or investment strategies without missing a beat.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Expect to spend your days fully owning project lifecycles, leading meetings, and managing complex schedules, resource allocation, and budgets. While the underlying projects run on Agile methodologies, you are stepping in as a true Project Manager rather than a Scrum Master—meaning you are accountable for the deliverables, executive reporting, and keeping stakeholders aligned. You will actively challenge estimates that look out of the norm and push back when timelines or resource demands don't add up.

The Core Tech Stack

Your primary toolkit here isn't a specific coding language, but rather deep financial services domain knowledge coupled with enterprise project management frameworks. You must have proven experience in the financial, retirement, or investment space. Knowing how to handle heavy budgeting, resource management tools, and executive presentation platforms is non-negotiable for keeping senior leadership informed and confident.

Interview Expectations

Expect the interview panel to test your executive presence immediately by asking how you handle a scenario where a C-level stakeholder demands an unrealistic scope change mid-project without additional budget. The hiring manager is secretly looking for backbone, diplomatic pushback, and precise risk mitigation strategies rather than a simple 'yes' man. They will also likely drill down into a past project where you had to manage a failing budget and how you brought it back on track.

Application Advice

Make sure your resume screams financial domain expertise and heavy stakeholder management right at the top. To get past the ATS and impress Robin, explicitly include keywords like 'Resource Management', 'Budgeting', 'C-Level Executive Interfacing', and 'Financial/Retirement/Investment Experience'. Frame your past experience around ownership and times you actively challenged project assumptions rather than just keeping score.
