SAP GRC BASIS Lead / Architect SME

Not Disclosed

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-hitting SAP GRC and Basis SME role embedded within an Application Management Services landscape, steering enterprise-level compliance, security, and stability. You won't just be grinding out tickets here; you'll be acting as the connective tissue between anxious enterprise stakeholders and the delivery team, driving architectural decisions and putting out operational fires.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Your days will be split between high-level client governance and getting into the technical weeds of SAP landscapes. You'll lead service reviews, review complex change requests, and validate effort estimations while keeping an eye out for security vulnerabilities. Expect to quarterback technical de-escalations, coordinate transport management across S/4HANA or ECC landscapes, and push automation initiatives that keep the platform from buckling under technical debt.

The Core Tech Stack

You need absolute mastery over SAP Governance, Risk & Compliance (especially Access Control, ARA, EAM, ARM, and BRM) coupled with deep-seated SAP Basis administration skills. Because you'll be auditing SoD rules, handling kernel upgrades, managing TMS, and tuning performance across complex landscapes like BW and PI/PO, superficial knowledge won't cut it. They need someone who can speak fluently about high availability, disaster recovery, and enterprise security governance without flinching.

Interview Expectations

Be ready for the interview panel to throw a complex Segregation of Duties scenario your way, asking how you would untangle a critical access conflict in an active S/4HANA environment without breaking production workflows. They want to see how you balance strict audit compliance with pragmatic business delivery. You should also expect a deep dive into your experience with transport management bottlenecks and emergency access firefighting, where they are secretly evaluating your composure under pressure and your ability to communicate technical risk to non-technical stakeholders.

Application Advice

Your resume needs to scream enterprise SAP governance and stability. Don't just list modules; spell out the scale of the landscapes you've managed and include hard metrics on successful upgrades, risk mitigations, or audit remediations you've spearheaded. Weave in exact keywords from the job description like Access Risk Analysis, Emergency Access Management, and Transport Management System to make sure you clear the initial ATS hurdles before a human ever looks at your profile.
