Vendor Management Analyst

Systems Engineering Services

Job Description & Details

This is a hands-on Vendor Management Analyst role focused heavily on procurement analytics, data migration from spreadsheets to systems like SAP Ariba, and workflow automation. If you like digging through complex spend data, untangling multi-system discrepancies, and acting as the go-to resource for a Vendor Management Office, this gig gives you plenty of autonomy to make an impact.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You will spend a good chunk of your day wrangling data out of SAP, Ariba, and databases using DBeaver, then turning that raw information into clean spend and forecasting dashboards in Power BI and Excel. You'll also work on building out automated workflows using Microsoft Power Automate to wipe out tedious manual tracking, while collaborating alongside two junior apprentices to standardize documentation and investigate supplier data for potential anomalies or fraud.

The Core Tech Stack

Your absolute bread and butter here will be advanced Microsoft Excel and Power BI for reporting, alongside SAP Ariba and DBeaver for data extraction and reconciliation. Because this team is transitioning processes away from messy spreadsheets and into structured vendor management applications, strong database intuition and Microsoft Power Automate skills are non-negotiable if you want to eliminate manual toil.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring manager to throw a messy data reconciliation scenario at you, asking how you would track down a discrepancy when financial numbers from SAP and a separate internal system don't match up; they want to see your investigative mindset and obsession with data accuracy. You will also likely be asked to explain a time you built an automation or dashboard from scratch, where they'll be listening closely to how well you translate stakeholder requests into scalable technical solutions.

Application Advice

When updating your resume for this role, make sure your project history clearly highlights your experience with spend analysis, data migration, and dashboard creation rather than just listing general analyst duties. Explicitly drop keywords like SAP Ariba, DBeaver, Microsoft Power Automate, and cross-functional KPI reporting right into your experience bullets so your resume easily clears the ATS and lands on the recruiter's desk.
