Senior SAP PP/DS Consultant

Job Description & Details

This is a heavyweight implementation and architecture role for someone who truly understands the inner workings of SAP PP/DS inside modern S/4HANA environments. You won't just be pushing configuration buttons; you'll be overhauling how enterprise manufacturing and supply chain teams handle finite capacity planning and complex scheduling. If you know how to bridge the gap between messy factory floors and clean digital architectures, this project is built for your skillset.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Expect to spend your days knee-deep in solution design, running discovery workshops with stakeholders, and configuring demand management and detailed scheduling workflows. You will lead end-to-end implementation cycles, troubleshoot hairy integration bugs between S/4HANA modules, and ensure data flows cleanly from procurement straight through to shop floor execution. A lot of your time will also go toward mentoring junior consultants and stabilizing systems post-go-live.

The Core Tech Stack

Deep mastery of SAP PP/DS (Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling) and SAP S/4HANA is non-negotiable here. You need solid hands-on experience with finite capacity planning, demand management, and manufacturing process optimization. Because you'll be fixing complex bottlenecks, you also need to be entirely comfortable digging into system configuration, integration flows, and rigorous testing strategies.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring team to test your deep architectural knowledge with scenario-based questions. They will likely ask you to explain how you handle heuristic vs. optimization-based scheduling conflicts during peak demand shifts, and what your exact troubleshooting methodology is when CIF (Core Interface) errors break data flow between ECC/S/4 and PP/DS. They aren't looking for textbook definitions; they want to hear war stories of how you fixed similar production stoppages under tight deadlines.

Application Advice

Make sure your resume leans heavily into enterprise-scale S/4HANA implementations rather than just maintenance or minor support tickets. Explicitly highlight keywords like SAP PP/DS, finite capacity planning, demand management, and S/4HANA integration throughout your bullet points so you easily clear the initial ATS filters. Frame your experience around measurable improvements in manufacturing efficiency to catch the hiring manager's eye.
