Project Manager

Everforth Apex

Job Description & Details

This is a solid gig for a Project Manager who knows how to herd cats without losing their mind. You'll be dropping into a data and analytics portfolio, keeping multiple concurrent initiatives moving forward while wearing both the PM and Scrum Master hats. If you like clear deliverables, unblocking technical teams, and keeping stakeholders aligned, this is worth your time.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You'll spend your days facilitating Agile ceremonies like stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, but the real work happens in the grey areas. You'll be untangling cross-functional dependencies between data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders, tracking shifting priorities, and keeping documentation up to date in tools like Jira and Confluence. Expect to constantly hunt down blockers, manage resource utilization, and ensure that everyone actually knows what ships next and when.

The Core Tech Stack
While you won't be writing code, you need to speak the language of modern data stacks. The hiring team expects you to be completely fluent in Agile project management tooling like Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, and Smartsheet. Beyond that, having enough baseline familiarity with data pipelines, Power BI, Tableau, Databricks, Snowflake, or Oracle will save you from getting lost when the engineers start talking architecture during backlog grooming.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring manager to throw a messy scenario your way, such as how you would handle a critical data pipeline deliverable that is suddenly delayed two weeks before a stakeholder demo while resources are split across two other projects. They want to see how you balance assertive risk management with diplomatic stakeholder communication. Another common angle will test your Scrum mastery: they'll ask how you handle a team that consistently fails to hit their sprint commitments, looking to see if you lean into punitive metrics or dig into root-cause process improvements.

Application Advice

To get past the ATS, make sure your resume heavily features terms like Agile delivery, stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and cross-functional coordination. Don't just list the tools you've used; highlight specific metrics around the data and analytics projects you've managed, such as portfolio sizes, team counts, or how you streamlined documentation workflows. Tie your certifications like CSM or PMP directly into your professional summary.
