Job Description & Details

This is a hands-on remote engineering gig focused heavily on serverless AWS architecture, data pipelines, and full-stack delivery within Agile teams. You will be expected to jump straight into building features, untangling local build pipelines, and debugging distributed systems with minimal hand-holding. If you enjoy wearing multiple hats and taking ownership from database to frontend, this role offers plenty of technical autonomy.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You'll spend your days designing and deploying full-stack solutions, writing clean Python and SQL, and building out robust serverless architectures using AWS services. A big part of the initial phase involves overhauling local build and deployment pipelines, so expect to spend time troubleshooting CI/CD bottlenecks. You will also be diagnosing tricky bugs across distributed systems, handling job orchestration via Step Functions or Airflow, and collaborating closely with product and stakeholder teams to ship user-facing features.

The Core Tech Stack

Your bread and butter here needs to be Python, API design, and solid SQL skills, combined with hands-on experience in AWS serverless ecosystems and data processing tools like Spark and Airflow. Because you'll be touching everything from databases to middleware and pipelines, you need to be comfortable reasoning about distributed systems and applying modern design patterns without needing a roadmap.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring team to test your deep understanding of AWS serverless trade-offs and your ability to debug complex asynchronous workflows. They will likely ask you how you would design a resilient event-driven data pipeline using AWS Step Functions and Lambda, and they'll be looking for your ability to handle failure states, retries, and idempotency gracefully. Another likely scenario involves walking through a tough production debugging session where a Spark job or an API endpoint started failing downstream, forcing them to see how you systematically trace root causes across distributed components.

Application Advice

To get past the automated screens, make sure your resume explicitly highlights Python, AWS serverless deployments, and orchestration tools like Airflow or Step Functions right at the top. Don't just list technologies; weave them into bullet points that emphasize ownership of deployment pipelines, API design, and cross-functional communication with product stakeholders.
