Senior Smartsheet Business Systems Analyst

Cynet Systems

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-duty Smartsheet architecture and production support contract based out of Sunnyvale. If you're tired of writing generic requirement docs and actually want to build scalable, automated workspaces that cross-functional teams will rely on every day, this gig cuts through the red tape and lets you engineer solutions.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You'll be straddling the line between stakeholder management and technical execution. Day-to-day involves running requirement-gathering sessions with process owners, turning their messy operational workflows into clean user stories, and translating those into actual architectural blueprints. You'll also handle the less glamorous side of production support—managing ITSM tickets, troubleshooting broken automations, and making sure cross-functional teams aren't breaking their sheets with bad formulas.

The Core Tech Stack

You need absolute mastery over advanced Smartsheet mechanics. We aren't talking about basic sheet creation; you must know Premium Apps like Data Shuttle, Dynamic View, DataMesh, and Control Center like the back of your hand. Being able to architect multi-tier program configurations, set up DataTable, and link cross-sheet data without hitting cell reference limits is non-negotiable. Excel formula wizardry and familiarity with connectors like Jira or Salesforce will also save you on day one.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring manager to throw a scenario at you involving a massive, poorly optimized Control Center blueprint that is throwing sync errors across multiple tiers, and ask you how you'd troubleshoot it. They are looking to see if you understand dependency mapping and how to trace broken data flows without blowing up the whole workspace. They'll also likely test your requirements-gathering methodology by asking how you handle conflicting stakeholder demands when building out a high-visibility dashboard.

Application Advice

Don't just list 'Smartsheet' under your skills and call it a day—the ATS will eat you alive. Explicitly call out every single Premium App you've deployed (Data Shuttle, Dynamic View, Control Center) right at the top of your resume. Mention your experience translating vague business requirements into clean user stories, managing ITSM support queues, and specifically highlight any complex API or Salesforce/Jira integrations you've built.
