Job Description & Details
This role places you right in the middle of complex stakeholder conversations and deep technical execution as a Salesforce Technical Product Owner. You will be translating high-level business goals into scalable technical reality while managing backlogs for enterprise-level deployments. If you enjoy untangling messy business processes and turning them into clean, functional CRM workflows, this contract will keep you engaged.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Your typical week involves a balancing act between talking to business stakeholders and keeping the engineering squad unblocked. You'll spend time refining user stories, writing out ironclad acceptance criteria, and running Agile ceremonies like sprint planning and backlog grooming. Expect to push back on unrealistic feature requests from the business side while ensuring architects and developers have clear, unambiguous technical specifications to build against.
The Core Tech Stack
You need a solid, hands-on grasp of the Salesforce ecosystem, specifically Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud. Understanding platform capabilities like Flows, APIs, and Lightning Experience is non-negotiable because you cannot translate business requirements into technical epics if you don't know how Salesforce actually processes data under the hood. Experience with advanced features like CPQ, MuleSoft, or Data Cloud will heavily set you apart.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring manager to throw a complex stakeholder conflict scenario your way, asking how you handle a situation where two major business units demand contradictory features for the same sprint. They want to see how you balance technical debt against rapid feature delivery. You should also be ready for a technical deep-dive into how you write user stories—they will likely test your ability to take a vague business complaint and break it down into clean, developer-ready acceptance criteria without losing the original intent.
Application Advice
When tailoring your resume, ditch the generic product management buzzwords and focus heavily on your technical Salesforce articulation. Make sure keywords like 'Salesforce Sales/Service Cloud', 'Agile Product Ownership', 'Backlog Refinement', and 'API Integrations' are explicitly written into your experience bullets so you clear the automated ATS filters. Highlight specific instances where you successfully mediated between non-technical business leaders and hardcore engineering teams.
