Job Description & Details

This is a hands-on Lead Java Developer role focused heavily on modern serverless AWS architectures, event-driven pipelines, and full-stack delivery. You will be expected to hit the ground running with minimal hand-holding, owning technical solutions while simultaneously mentoring other engineers on design patterns and robust architecture.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Your day-to-day will be a mix of writing clean backend code, tackling stubborn production bugs, and spearheading local build and deployment pipeline improvements. You'll work closely with Agile teams to design and implement features across distributed systems, handle complex troubleshooting that spans databases to cloud infrastructure, and rapidly fix root causes when things break in production. Expect to spend a solid chunk of your time ensuring serverless initiatives and AWS toolsets are optimized and scalable.

The Core Tech Stack

Java is your bread and butter here, but you cannot survive this role on Java alone. You need deep, production-level fluency in AWS services with a heavy emphasis on serverless tools, plus solid competence in Python, API design, SQL, Spark, and job orchestration frameworks like Step Functions or Airflow. They are also utilizing various relational and NoSQL databases, containers, and open-source tech, so knowing how these systems talk to each other under load is non-negotiable.

Interview Expectations

Prepare to take a Glider technical assessment followed by a 30-minute Zoom interview where you will be tested on your architectural decisions and troubleshooting methodology. The hiring manager is going to ask you to walk through a complex debugging scenario across a distributed AWS environment; they aren't just looking for the final fix, but rather your systematic approach to isolating root causes in cloud-native systems. They will also gauge your mentorship capabilities by asking how you explain complex design patterns to junior team members.

Application Advice

To get past the ATS and grab the recruiter's attention, make sure your resume highlights concrete examples of AWS serverless deployments, data orchestration tools like Airflow or Step Functions, and Spark integration. Don't just list Java as a skill; frame your past experience around full-stack ownership, pipeline improvements, and cross-functional stakeholder communication since you'll be interfacing constantly with product and enterprise teams.
