Data Analyst (Snowflake / SQL)

3Core Systems, Inc

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-duty, year-long contract focused entirely on data analysis, lineage validation, and regulatory reporting inside a cloud data warehouse. If you enjoy digging deep into messy datasets, tracing source-to-target flows, and untangling complex data quality issues rather than just building dashboards all day, this gig will keep you thoroughly engaged.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Expect to spend a good chunk of your day writing complex SQL queries to profile, validate, and reconcile data moving across various transformation layers and reporting platforms. You'll be tracking down data lineage gaps, investigating why a report doesn't match the source system, and helping onboard new regulatory reports. It's a lot of detective work—talking to both business stakeholders and data engineers to figure out where transformations broke or why a data quality metric is failing, then documenting the fix.

The Core Tech Stack

Advanced SQL is non-negotiable here; you need to be completely comfortable writing CTEs, window functions, and heavy-duty join logic without breaking a sweat. Alongside SQL, you'll be living inside Snowflake, meaning you need a solid grasp of cloud data warehouse performance and architecture. Experience with regulatory reporting pipelines, data profiling tools, and data governance frameworks will instantly move your resume to the top of the stack.

Interview Expectations

Expect the technical screen to test your SQL chops right out of the gate, likely asking you to write a complex window function or recursive CTE live to solve a data aggregation problem. The hiring manager is also going to grill you on your experience with data lineage and root-cause analysis, so be ready to walk them through a specific time you tracked down a massive data discrepancy between a source system and a final executive report.

Application Advice

To get past the ATS, make sure your resume explicitly highlights keywords like 'source-to-target mappings', 'data lineage', 'data profiling', and 'complex SQL' in your recent experience bullet points. Don't just list technologies; emphasize your analytical problem-solving skills and any background you have in compliance, audit, or regulatory reporting environments.
