Cyber Security Analyst II

Akkodis

Job Description & Details

This is a specialized, hands-on contract role focused on securing critical infrastructure within a highly regulated utility environment. If you know your way around operational technology, SIEM tools, and heavy-duty compliance standards, this is a solid gig where your security engineering background will actually be put to the test.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Expect to spend your days knee-deep in infrastructure projects, guiding everything from network migrations to security solution deployments across enterprise and operational tech environments. You won't just be writing policies; you'll actively lead technical responses during audits, optimize firewall and routing setups, and wrangle security data from SIEM platforms to hunt down real threats. When things break or audits loom, you'll be the technical backbone keeping disaster recovery plans and incident response workflows airtight.

The Core Tech Stack

To survive here, you need a rock-solid foundation in Windows and Linux systems administration, alongside deep enterprise networking knowledge covering IP routing, switching, and firewall tech. Familiarity with SIEM platforms like Splunk, Nitro, or Industrial Defender is a non-negotiable requirement because you'll be constantly parsing logs to catch anomalies. Having exposure to critical infrastructure or utility-specific operational tech environments will instantly set you apart from standard enterprise IT guys.

Interview Expectations

Expect the interviewers to probe deeply into your incident response methodology and how you handle complex SIEM alerts under pressure in high-stakes environments. They'll likely ask you to walk through a scenario where an unexpected network intrusion occurs in an operational technology segment, and they'll be secretly listening to see if you can balance aggressive threat containment with the strict uptime requirements of critical infrastructure.

Application Advice

Your resume needs to scream compliance, network security, and utility experience if you want to clear the ATS and catch the recruiter's eye. Make sure terms like SIEM, incident response, firewall configuration, regulatory compliance, and Windows/Linux administration are explicitly mentioned alongside your project leadership history. If you hold a CISSP, CCNP, or PMP certification, put them right at the top.
