Job Description & Details
This is a hands-on Senior Fullstack role where your time will be heavily weighted toward backend architecture, though you still need to be comfortable slinging modern frontend code. You will be building and scaling distributed cloud-native applications in a fast-paced environment where technical leadership is expected from day one.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Expect to spend your days designing microservices, optimizing database queries across SQL and NoSQL stores, and making crucial architectural decisions for cloud-native solutions on AWS or Azure. Beyond writing clean code, you'll be leading technical projects, driving code reviews, and mentoring junior engineers to level up the entire team. You'll work closely with product and UX to take complex requirements and turn them into performant, reliable production systems.
The Core Tech Stack
The heavy lifting here requires strong backend chops in Node.js and Java with Spring Boot, coupled with solid frontend fundamentals in TypeScript and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue. Given the distributed nature of the systems, you need a firm grasp of microservices, REST API design, and cloud containerization. The ideal candidate isn't just a coder, but someone who understands how these pieces interact under heavy load in a cloud environment.
Interview Expectations
Be prepared for deep architectural grilling, likely starting with a system design question around building a highly scalable distributed service on AWS, where the interviewer will poke holes in your choice of database and caching strategies. They'll also want to hear about a time you led a technical project end-to-end, specifically how you handled technical debt and aligned your engineering decisions with business goals. They aren't looking for textbook answers; they want to see how you pragmatically trade off speed and maintainability.
Application Advice
Make sure your resume clearly reflects a 60/40 backend-to-frontend weight distribution, heavily spotlighting your experience with Node.js, Java/Spring Boot, and cloud deployments. Don't just list technologies; use metrics to show how your architectural decisions improved system performance or scalability, and explicitly mention any past experience leading technical projects or mentoring teammates to hit their exact leadership checkboxes.
