Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-duty Salesforce implementation role tailored specifically for someone who knows the telecom space inside and out. If you've spent years wrestling with complex order management, product catalogs, and CPQ in a telco environment, this gig lets you put those hard-earned scars to work.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Expect to spend your days knee-deep in Vlocity (OmniStudio) components and custom Apex code. You'll be building out OmniScripts, wrangling DataRaptors, and wiring up Integration Procedures while making sure your LWC implementations don't crawl. It's not just writing code in isolation; you'll be untangling legacy telecom business processes—like customer lifecycle management and service provisioning—and translating them into clean, scalable cloud workflows.
The Core Tech Stack
Your bread and butter here will be Salesforce Industries (Vlocity) combined with heavy backend and frontend Salesforce fundamentals. You need to be completely fluent in Apex, Triggers, SOQL, and LWC, alongside OmniStudio tools like FlexCards and DataRaptors. Because telecom environments are rarely isolated, solid experience building and debugging REST and SOAP integrations with external BSS/OSS systems is an absolute non-negotiable requirement.
Interview Expectations
Expect the technical round to dig deep into how you handle governor limits when processing massive batches of telecom orders through complex Vlocity DataRaptors. The interviewer is going to ask you to whiteboard an end-to-end integration scenario, and they are secretly looking to see if you can architect for performance and scalability rather than just writing code that 'works' on your developer sandbox. Be ready to defend your choices on when to use OmniScripts versus standard Screen Flows.
Application Advice
Don't just list every Salesforce certification you own and call it a day; make sure your resume screams 'Telecom' on the very first page. Weave keywords like CPQ, Order Management, OmniStudio, Integration Procedures, and Vlocity explicitly into your project descriptions so you easily clear their automated ATS filters. Highlight specific instances where you successfully integrated Salesforce with external billing or provisioning engines, as that proves you have the domain expertise they are willing to pay top dollar for.
