Job Description & Details
This role puts you at the helm of building next-gen retail and loyalty systems for Fortune 500 clients. If you enjoy untangling complex multi-location POS workflows and scaling merchant platforms, this is a solid playground to flex your product muscles. You will be shaping the core infrastructure that thousands of retailers rely on daily.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Your days will be a mix of deep merchant research, translating feedback into tightly scoped PRDs, and aligning cross-functional engineering and design teams. You'll spend a lot of time balancing the delicate tension between giving merchants deep operational flexibility and keeping the end-user interface dead simple. Expect to own the product roadmap end-to-end, making tough feature trade-offs while keeping a close eye on adoption metrics and usage data to drive iterative improvements.
The Core Tech Stack
While you won't be writing the code, you need to deeply understand the retail tech ecosystem. The non-negotiables here are hands-on experience with Core POS workflows, inventory setup, catalog management, and omnichannel order management systems. If you haven't shipped products that bridge warehouse operations with multi-location merchant dashboards, you'll likely struggle with the system architecture discussions happening here.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring managers to probe your ability to handle ambiguous product trade-offs, particularly around scaling a multi-location platform without breaking merchant workflows. They will likely ask you to walk through a time you had to sunset a popular feature or push back on aggressive stakeholder demands using hard product metrics. The interviewer is secretly looking for your structured thinking, your reliance on data rather than gut feeling, and how empathetically you can advocate for both the merchant and the end consumer.
Application Advice
Forget standard resume fluff and make sure your CV heavily features hard retail domain keywords like POS workflows, OmniCommerce, inventory setup, and product roadmap prioritization. Highlight metrics from past roles where you scaled a product across multiple locations or significantly improved user retention through data-driven feature iteration. If your resume reads like a generic project manager instead of a technical, metrics-driven product owner who speaks fluent retail tech, it's going to get filtered out fast.
