Senior DevOps Networking Engineer

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-duty infrastructure role bridging traditional networking with modern cloud-native systems. You'll be spending your days wrangling complex hybrid environments, configuring enterprise hardware, and keeping automated Kubernetes clusters healthy while supporting cutting-edge robotic systems.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Expect to bounce between low-level network packet analysis and high-level cloud architecture. One morning you might be diagnosing an elusive packet drop on a Palo Alto firewall or Juniper switch, and the afternoon will be spent writing Terraform modules to scale AWS or GCP clusters. You'll also take part in an on-call rotation, meaning you'll need to troubleshoot production outages under pressure using log analysis and packet captures.

The Core Tech Stack

You need deep fluency in Linux system administration and hard-core networking (TCP/IP, routing, switching). On the modern side, Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform are absolute non-negotiables since everything runs on Infrastructure as Code. Experience with enterprise gear from Cisco, Juniper, or Palo Alto is critical because the physical and virtual networks must talk seamlessly to your AWS and GCP cloud environments.

Interview Expectations

They are going to grill you on your troubleshooting methodology. Expect a scenario where a containerized app in Kubernetes can't reach an external database behind a firewall; they want to see if you can systematically trace the issue from the pod network namespace through the CNI, host routing tables, and out to the physical switches and security appliances. Another question will likely focus on Terraform state management and how you handle failed infrastructure applies in a mission-critical hybrid environment without causing downtime.

Application Advice

Make sure your resume doesn't just list tools, but tells a story about how you scaled systems and solved gnarly network problems. Explicitly highlight keywords like 'Terraform', 'Kubernetes', 'Palo Alto', 'Juniper', and 'AWS/GCP' so you get past the automated screens. Emphasize any hands-on experience dealing with hybrid cloud architectures and complex routing issues, as these are the exact pain points this team needs you to solve on day one.
