Job Description & Details
If you are tired of answering tier-1 password reset calls all day, this hybrid role offers a nice step up into proper Tier 2 endpoint management and enterprise Microsoft 365 support. You'll be managing hardware deployments, imaging laptops, and wrangling mobile devices for local users in Madison, while still getting some remote flexibility mixed into your weekly routine.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You will spend your days as the operational backbone for local enterprise users, jumping between ticketing queues, walk-ins, and remote troubleshooting sessions. Half the battle here is handling the physical lifecycle of devices—imaging new PCs, unboxing laptops, configuring iOS gear, and setting up fresh software drops. The other half is diagnosing tricky Windows or Microsoft 365 glitches, keeping meticulous notes in the ticketing system, and quietly building out Knowledge Base articles so you don't have to answer the same weird hardware bug twice.
The Core Tech Stack
You are going to live and breathe Microsoft 365, Microsoft Intune, and Windows administration. Because they heavily rely on Intune and modern endpoint deployment strategies, you need to know how to push policies, manage mobile devices, and handle provisioning without holding someone's hand. Solid iOS and iPadOS troubleshooting skills are just as critical since you'll be supporting phones and tablets alongside standard Windows laptops.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring manager to throw a curveball scenario your way, like asking how you would troubleshoot a remote user whose laptop fails to sync group policies or Intune deployments right out of the box. They aren't just looking for a technical fix; they want to see your structured troubleshooting methodology and how you patiently walk a non-technical employee through a frustrating roadblock without losing your cool.
Application Advice
Your resume needs to heavily feature the exact tool names mentioned in this listing—specifically 'Microsoft Intune', 'computer imaging', and 'ticket management'. Don't just say you did IT support; quantify your experience by highlighting how many endpoints you managed, your familiarity with iOS enterprise deployments, and instances where your documentation or Knowledge Base contributions actually saved your team time.
