Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-hitting leadership role managing a massive global PTC Windchill deployment for a multi-billion dollar biotech giant. You aren't just writing code here; you're steering the enterprise roadmap for 4,000+ users while keeping a tight leash on FDA and ISO compliance.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You'll spend your days balancing people management and high-stakes platform stability. You are directly leading a team of 12 internal folks and external partners, meaning you'll field escalations on system upgrades, manage vendor relationships, and interface constantly with R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality executives. Your primary battleground is ensuring that AWS-hosted Windchill v13.x, QMS, and change management modules don't bottleneck drug development or manufacturing lines, all while keeping computer system validation (CSV) audit-ready.
The Core Tech Stack
You need deep, battle-tested expertise in PTC Windchill v13.x architecture, QMS, Document Management, and Change Management modules, though they'll look at heavyweights from Teamcenter or ENOVIA if your leadership chops are stellar. Beyond PLM, you must understand how data flows through enterprise integrations using tools like Dell Boomi and SAP BTP, backed by a solid grasp of Java/J2EE customizations and AWS cloud infrastructure.
Interview Expectations
The hiring panel is going to drill you on how you handle failed system upgrades or critical compliance bottlenecks in a regulated environment; they want to see your crisis management playbook and how you protect patient safety without halting business operations. Expect deep-dive questions on managing offshore delivery partners and scaling a PLM support model for thousands of global users, where the interviewer is secretly listening for your ability to balance technical pragmatism with strict FDA and ISO regulatory governance.
Application Advice
Your resume needs to instantly prove you've operated at this scale. Make sure terms like PTC Windchill, Computer System Validation (CSV), FDA compliance, Dell Boomi, and AWS are front and center. Don't just list your technical skills; emphasize your leadership footprint by explicitly stating the size of the teams you've managed, the user base sizes you've supported, and the operational budgets you've successfully owned.
