Job Description & Details
This is a classic state-level enterprise role where you will be bridging the gap between bureaucratic stakeholders and technical execution for the South Carolina Department of Administration. Expect to juggle multi-vendor environments, rigid compliance frameworks, and heavy documentation while keeping large-scale IT transformations on track. If you enjoy untangling complex workflows and driving accountability across cross-functional teams, this 12-month contract offers a solid platform to make an impact.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Your day-to-day will be a mix of traditional PM duties and deep-dive business analysis. You'll spend mornings facilitating workshops to capture functional requirements and map out current-to-future state processes, and afternoons updating RAID logs, managing Integrated Master Schedules, and reporting to agency executives. You'll also be heavily involved in tracking deliverables, overseeing vendors through procurement cycles, and coordinating UAT to ensure what gets built actually solves the business problem.
The Core Tech Stack
While you won't be writing code, you need a firm grasp of enterprise project management and business analysis tooling. Proficiency with PowerBI or advanced data dashboarding is critical for executive reporting, alongside mastery of scheduling software for maintaining complex Work Breakdown Structures. Familiarity with state-level procurement (RFPs, SOWs) and structured frameworks for requirements elicitation and journey mapping will make or break your success here.
Interview Expectations
When you talk to the hiring team, expect them to test your conflict-resolution skills by asking how you handle scope creep when a sponsor tries to add requirements mid-stream without timeline adjustments. They are secretly looking for a diplomat who can say 'no' effectively while keeping stakeholders happy and compliant. You should also be ready to walk through a past project where you successfully translated vague business needs into hard, testable user stories and acceptance criteria.
Application Advice
Make sure your resume screams PMP and process redesign from the very first page. Drop exact keywords from the listing like 'Integrated Master Schedule,' 'RAID logs,' 'business analysis,' and 'requirements elicitation' so you easily clear the initial ATS scan. Highlight your experience managing enterprise or regulatory IT initiatives, and clearly state your ability to work on an Innosoft W2 to avoid unnecessary delays in the pipeline.
