Lead Engineer - Automotive IOC Ethernet

Not Disclosed

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-duty, hands-on lead role centered around automotive networking, specifically designing and troubleshooting Ethernet communication stacks and In-Vehicle Communication (IOC) architectures. If you enjoy diving deep into packet captures, wrestling with AUTOSAR BSW configurations, and figuring out why a domain controller is dropping frames, this contract gives you a chance to own the architecture.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You'll spend your days configuring Ethernet communication components, integrating AUTOSAR stacks, and debugging complex networking issues across multiple ECUs. Expect to spend hours staring at Wireshark traces and Vector CANoe logs to hunt down latency spikes, packet loss, or misbehaving SOME/IP service discovery packets. You'll work closely with hardware, system architects, and validation teams to ensure the whole in-vehicle network doesn't fall apart during HIL/SIL testing.

The Core Tech Stack

You need absolute fluency in Embedded C/C++ and deep, battle-tested experience with AUTOSAR Classic (and ideally Adaptive) communication stacks, including Ethernet drivers, EthIf, TcpIp, and SoAd. Mastery of networking protocols like TCP/IP, UDP, SOME/IP, and DoIP is non-negotiable. Combined with hands-on experience using tools like Wireshark and Vector CANoe for hardware-level debugging and ARXML configuration, you'll need to hit the ground running without needing a primer on automotive communication layers.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring team to test your deep architectural knowledge by asking you to walk through how you would diagnose a hard-to-reproduce intermittent communication failure between a gateway and a domain controller using raw trace logs. They want to see your mental model of the TCP/IP stack and AUTOSAR BSW layers under pressure. You will also likely face a scenario-based question on configuring VLANs, switches, and QoS settings to optimize latency for safety-critical data.

Application Advice

Your resume needs to skip the generic buzzwords and immediately highlight concrete metrics and ownership regarding AUTOSAR Ethernet stack integration, ARXML configurations, and multi-ECU debugging. Make sure keywords like SOME/IP, DoIP, Vector CANoe, Wireshark, and Embedded C/C++ are explicitly written out in relation to real automotive projects you've shipped, ensuring your profile clears the automated filters and lands directly on the engineering lead's desk.
