Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-duty Oracle E-Business Suite developer role supporting a state agency's HR and Financial systems (eSCC) in a hybrid setup requiring three days a week on-site in Richmond. You'll be stepping into a tight-knit team of four working in an Agile format, tackling a massive backlog and keeping core financial and HR operations humming.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Expect to spend your days translating murky business needs into rock-solid database and application solutions across core modules like AP, GL, Purchasing, and HR Time and Labor. You will be writing code, debugging tricky production issues, and handling the full software development lifecycle from unit tests to production turnovers. Since this is a public sector environment, documentation and following strict coding standards are non-negotiable parts of the routine.

The Core Tech Stack

They need someone who has lived and breathed Oracle EBS 12.2+ running on Linux servers hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure for at least eight years. You cannot fake your way through the technical requirements here: deep proficiency in Oracle Developer Suite (Forms and Reports), Oracle JDeveloper (Java), Oracle Workflow Builder, and raw PL/SQL is the price of admission. Bonus points if you've touched Azure DevOps or the VA Cardinal system, but your core Oracle toolkit needs to be razor sharp.

Interview Expectations

Be ready for the hiring panel to test your deep understanding of PL/SQL performance tuning and complex Oracle EBS workflow modifications on an OCI environment. They are going to want to hear specific architectural war stories about how you handled a broken production batch process or managed an upgrade across modules like Accounts Payable or General Ledger. They aren't just looking for syntax knowledge; they want proof that you can troubleshoot independently without breaking the state's financial backend.

Application Advice

Your resume needs to heavily feature exact keyword matches from the job description like 'Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2', 'Oracle Cloud Infrastructure', and specific module names like 'iRecruitment' or 'Time and Labor' to clear the automated filters. Don't just list technologies; weave them into project descriptions that explicitly demonstrate your eight years of systems analysis, documentation, and hands-on coding expertise in a Linux environment.
