This is a solid contract gig for someone who knows their way around a Vendor Management Office and loves digging into data migrations. You will be acting as the right-hand resource for VM, handling everything from messy spreadsheet transitions to building out critical dashboards.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Expect to spend your days knee-deep in data management, migrating vendor info from old-school spreadsheets into a centralized application without breaking the system. You'll be generating analytical reports using PowerBI and Excel to keep stakeholders aligned, while managing day-to-day vendor operations. The real challenge here is bringing order to unstructured data and keeping communication proactive when roadblocks pop up.
The Core Tech Stack
PowerBI is non-negotiable here, so you need to be comfortable spinning up clean dashboards and handling data modeling. Advanced Excel is a given since you'll be auditing and prepping spreadsheets for migration. If you have SAP Ariba experience, that is a nice bonus that will put you ahead of the pack, but your core ability to handle vendor management software and heavy data wrangling matters most.
Interview Expectations
They are going to test how you handle messy data migrations, likely asking you to walk through a time you took unstructured spreadsheet data and prepped it for an enterprise system. Be ready to explain your exact methodology for data validation. The hiring manager is secretly looking for someone who doesn't panic when data is incomplete and will proactively hunt down answers rather than waiting to be told.
