Nuclear Project Manager 3 - PM3

Everforth Apex

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-hitting senior project management role demanding deep domain expertise in nuclear utility environments, specifically steering complex engineering initiatives. You will be stepping onto a high-stakes site in Waynesboro, Georgia to own the schedule, budget, and multi-disciplinary execution of critical infrastructure projects. If you don't have hands-on experience navigating the strict regulatory and operational realities of nuclear energy, this isn't the gig for you.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Expect to spend your days knee-deep in project planning, risk mitigation, and wrangling stakeholders from executive leadership down to boots-on-the-ground engineering teams. You'll be setting the scope and managing aggressive timelines while making sure documentation stays bulletproof under regulatory scrutiny. A massive part of your day-to-day will also involve mentoring junior and mid-level project managers, acting as the technical anchor when unexpected operational bottlenecks threaten to derail the critical path.

The Core Tech Stack

You need absolute mastery over advanced project management methodologies, scheduling software, and enterprise tracking tools. More importantly, the technical heartbeat of this role relies on a firm grasp of Instrumentation and Control (I&C) systems, followed closely by Electrical and Mechanical engineering frameworks. The hiring team needs someone who can speak the engineering language fluently, translating complex plant system requirements into actionable, milestone-driven project phases without missing a beat.

Interview Expectations

Be prepared for the interviewers to throw a complex, multi-variable failure scenario at you involving a severe delay in an I&C system upgrade that impacts the critical path of a plant outage. They are looking to see how you balance strict regulatory compliance, budget overruns, and cross-functional team panic under extreme pressure. They will also likely ask you to break down a time you had to manage significant scope creep on a legacy nuclear infrastructure project, digging into how you protected project deliverables without alienating key stakeholders.

Application Advice

Your resume needs to scream nuclear industry credibility right out of the gate, so drop the fluff and front-load your quantifiable achievements managing high-budget utility projects. Make sure keywords like Instrumentation and Control (I&C), risk management, critical path scheduling, and PMP certification are explicitly woven into your experience bullets to clear the ATS. Highlight your leadership chops and regulatory compliance background immediately so the hiring manager knows you can walk onto a nuclear site and start driving results on day one.
