Application Integration Engineer

Everforth Apex

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-travel, client-facing integration role where you'll spend up to 60% of your time on the road linking external customer systems with proprietary automation software. If you enjoy hands-on troubleshooting, diving into log files, and getting your hands dirty with real-world deployments rather than just sitting behind a desk, this gig offers a great mix of travel and engineering.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You'll be the bridge between external clients and internal engineering. Your day-to-day involves jumping on-site to deploy software, managing message flows, validating endpoints with Postman, and troubleshooting live integration breakdowns. When things inevitably break during a go-live, you'll be the one analyzing logs, recreating bugs in UAT environments, and working side-by-side with developers to patch the system. Expect some off-hours and weekend work to support critical client cutovers.

The Core Tech Stack

You need a solid foundation in API testing using tools like Postman and a strong grasp of relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server because you'll constantly be querying data to trace error states. Beyond the code, you'll rely heavily on log file analysis and Microsoft Office apps to document deployment strategies. If you happen to be bilingual in Spanish, it's a massive bonus given the international travel footprint.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring manager to ask you to walk through a time you debugged a complex integration failure across disparate systems under tight deadlines. They want to see your methodical approach to reading log files and isolating network versus application errors. You might also get grilled on your API testing methodology, specifically how you validate tricky request and response payload structures when authentication fails.

Application Advice

Make sure your resume doesn't just read like a list of IT support tasks; spotlight your hands-on experience with API testing, database querying, and direct customer-facing deployments. Explicitly mention tools like Postman and SQL alongside any past travel or off-hours deployment experience to instantly signal to the ATS and hiring manager that you are ready for the rigorous travel schedule this role demands.
