Technical Trainer for Applications

Job Description & Details

Technical Trainer for Applications role based in Queens, NY with a hybrid schedule. You'll be teaching customers how to use the company's software, translating complex features into digestible sessions. It's a solid chance to shape how clients get value from the product.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You’ll spend most of your week building and polishing training materials—slide decks, hands‑on labs, and quick‑reference guides—then delivering them either in‑person or over Zoom/Teams. Expect to run live workshops, record on‑demand videos, and field real‑time questions while keeping the session on track. After each class you’ll collect feedback, tweak the curriculum, and work closely with product and support teams to make sure the content stays current with each release.

The Core Tech Stack

The company expects you to be fluent with any Learning Management System (think Cornerstone, SAP SuccessFactors, or similar) and comfortable using webinar platforms for virtual delivery. You’ll need to pick up their proprietary application quickly, build demo environments, and translate UI flows into teachable moments. Strong PowerPoint/Google Slides skills and the ability to script and record video tutorials are non‑negotiable.

Interview Expectations

  1. Design a training curriculum for a SaaS product that gets monthly feature releases. The interviewer wants to see how you balance evergreen content with rapid updates, how you structure modular lessons, and whether you can measure learning outcomes.
  2. Walk me through troubleshooting a live virtual session when a participant can’t see the demo. They’re probing your on‑the‑fly problem‑solving, knowledge of screen‑sharing tools, and how you keep the audience engaged while fixing technical hiccups.

Application Advice

Tailor your resume to echo the exact phrasing from the posting: highlight “5+ years of experience as a customer training specialist,” “hybrid training delivery,” “curriculum development,” and any LMS platforms you’ve managed. Quantify impact—e.g., “trained 200+ users, achieving 95% satisfaction score.” Slip in “Queens, NY” and “technical trainer” to satisfy the ATS, and make sure your contact line includes the email Sara@impetususa.com so they can reach you fast.
